Dlugi, Theresa A., PhD
Research Associate
Theresa Dlugi, PhD joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin as a Research Associate II. She received her doctorate in Molecular Biology from Marquette University. Her previous work experiences include teaching Cell Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology and General Biology at Marquette University and leading the Educational Products division at a biotech company before returning to research. Her recent research positions have led her to study hematopoiesis and platelet production along with gene therapies for the treatment of sickle cell disease.
Currently, Theresa will be focusing her research efforts on human papillomavirus (HPV) integration events in invasive cervical cancer (ICC) in the lab of Dr. Janet S. Rader and on identifying potential targeted treatments for adult-type granulosa cell tumors of the ovary in the lab of Dr. Elizabeth Hopp.
When not in the lab, Theresa is busy helping her three children pursue their extracurricular passions of dance, gymnastics and soccer. She runs half and full marathons and, in her downtime, she likes to read, garden and spend time in Northern Wisconsin with her family.
