Dr. Anna Palatnik Receives FY26 Faculty Vitality Award

Anna Palatnik, MD is the Patrick J. and Margaret G. McMahon Endowed Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Clinical Research in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. With the Vitality Award, she will pursue an online fellowship training through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. This advanced training will enable Dr. Palatnik to incorporate evidence-based complementary approaches into her clinical practice and research.
Integrative Medicine is a field increasingly recognized for its value in addressing complex, multifaceted health concerns in women’s health. Her goal is to promote a holistic model of care, especially for pregnancy-related conditions like insomnia, nausea, anxiety, and more. The training will also enhance her ability to explore interdisciplinary strategies for preventing and managing pregnancy complications, aligning with NIH priorities and improving outcomes for women seeking integrative options alongside conventional care.
The Faculty Vitality Award was designed to support formal scholarly endeavors undertaken on a concentrated but less intensive basis than a traditional sabbatical, allowing for the continuation of other professional responsibilities concurrent with the period of the award. Faculty members with six or more years of service to MCW are eligible to apply, and the projects conducted over the course of the award must directly relate to one or more of MCW’s core missions. Information about next year’s application and deadline will be communicated in the fall.
