Benjamin D. Beran, MD

My goal is to ensure every patient feels she has been heard, received a thorough explanation, and actively participated in the treatment decision-making process. In the words of J.W. Mayo, "The best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered."

August 24, 2017  |  Doctors

Dr. Benjamin Beran joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in August 2017 in the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Beran received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 2011, followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2011 to 2015. He then completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston, FL from 2015 to 2017.

Dr. Beran’s passion is minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, which encompasses hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and robotic-assisted laparoscopy. These techniques allow safe and complete treatment of gynecologic conditions including abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, adenomyosis, and endometriosis, while allowing for less time in the hospital and quicker return to work and activities. He also specializes in the performance of office gynecologic ultrasound.

He has performed research in applications of surgical equipment, operating room procedures, and uterine transplantation. He has multiple research awards, and has shared his research during many local, national, and international conferences and through multiple peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Beran is actively involved in the education of residents and medical students and seeks to improve their surgical knowledge and skillset especially through surgical simulation.

He sees patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic in the Froedtert Specialty Clinics building, and performs surgeries and deliveries at Froedtert Hospital.

Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his wife and children, enjoys the great outdoors of Wisconsin, and pursuing the perfect cup of coffee at every opportunity.
