Stuart, Sean, DO, MPH

Dr. Sean C. Stuart joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in our Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in September 2026. Dr. Stuart received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan States University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. During medical school, he also completed a Master of Public Health through Michigan State University. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak / Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Prisma Health / University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Greenville prior to joining the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Stuart’s areas of expertise include comprehensive high risk obstetrics care and obstetric surgery, surgery for placenta accreta spectrum including cesarean hysterectomy, operative vaginal delivery, breech vaginal delivery of second twins, and dilation and evacuation. Other areas of clinical interest include perinatal infections, labor and delivery quality, caring for patients with medically complicated pregnancies from preconception through delivery, and medical education, and he has received several teaching awards for his work as an educator.

Dr. Stuart’s research interests include perinatal infections, prediction and prevention of preterm birth, and prediction and management of placenta accreta spectrum.

Dr. Stuart sees patients in the Maternal Fetal Care Center clinic at Froedtert Hospital and the Fetal Concerns Center at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Outside of work, Dr. Stuart enjoys spending time with his family and two rescue dogs. He is also an avid reader, donut enthusiast, and Lego collector.
