I am currently working on identifying the roles of RNA binding proteins (RBPs) in Gynecological cancers. RBPs are proteins that bind RNA through one or multiple globular RNA-binding domains (RBDs) and change the fate or function of the bound RNAs. Thus, altered expression and dysfunction of RBPs are implicated in the development of various cancers. Few of the RBPs have been identified as oncogenes or tumor suppressors, which will be characterized by my research. We expect that the identification and characterization of the RNA-RBP network would expand the scope of cellular RNA regulation and provide novel anti-cancer therapeutic targets for patient care.
