McDonald, Sarah, MD

Dr. Sarah McDonald joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in August 2024 in our Division of Gynecologic Oncology as a Gynecology Oncology Fellow. Dr. McDonald completed both her medical degree and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. McDonald works with patients who are undergoing workup or management of gynecologic malignancies including cancers of the uterus, cervix, ovary, vulva, and vagina. Her practice can include surgery, chemotherapy, and surveillance after treatment with a focus on patient-centered and evidence-based care. Her research interests include targeted therapies for recurrent cancers, rare tumor types, prevention and early detection of cancer, and optimizing medical and surgical education.
Outside of work, Dr. McDonald enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, including her wife, two rescue dogs, and cat, as well embarking on outdoor adventures or projects and exploring new restaurants and breweries.
