Lockett-Neumuth, Lisa, CNM, WHNP-BC

Lead, Nurse Midwife Program; Certified Nurse Midwife

Introduction

Lisa Lockett-Neumuth, CNM, APNP, joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in August, 2020. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 2006. After that, she worked as a Labor and Delivery RN for 4 years, before going back to school at The University of Cincinnati, where she obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. From there, she worked in an OB/GYN clinical practice for 4 years, before deciding to complete her schooling with a Post Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery. After becoming a board certified nurse midwife in 2014, she practiced for four and a half years in a full scope midwifery practice in a rural town, where they averaged 150-200 deliveries a year, before joining the Medical College of Wisconsin, Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine group.

Lisa’s current practice involves caring for women with high risk pregnancies. She specializes in diabetes management during pregnancy, but sees all women with chronic maternal conditions that could potentially complicate their pregnancies. She provides a holistic, patient centered model of care. This includes providing women and families with evidenced based care and safe options regarding their prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum courses. In her experience, this has allowed women to continue to feel involved in decision making, and an integral part of their care plan, which has lead to a success of outcomes.

Lisa sees patients in the outpatient setting of the Maternal Fetal Concerns Center, as well as inpatient on labor and delivery and postpartum.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three kids. She also enjoys distance running, and traveling.
