Knabe, Melissa A., MSN, CNM

Melissa Knabe, Certified Nurse Midwife, joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in April of 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2002 and her Master of Science degree in 2004, both from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and went on to begin her midwifery career at Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group. She practiced there from 2005 to 2009, before joining the Medical College of Wisconsin team.

Melissa’s practice focuses primarily on general Obstetrics and Gynecological Services, and she enjoys working with women throughout their lifespan from adolescence through menopause. She believes in educating women about their bodies, especially regarding pregnancy and childbirth. With knowledge, women are empowered and can play an active role in their health care. She provides personalized care and wants women to feel comfortable with their health care provider.

Melissa is board certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives and is a member of the local and national chapters of the ACNM and also the Delta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. She is professionally trained in assisting women with self hypnosis for childbirth as well.

Melissa sees patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic at Froedtert Hospital, located in our Specialty Clinics Building, formerly known as Froedtert East Clinics. She also delivers babies at the Children’s Hospital Of Wisconsin.

Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband and one year old daughter. She also spends her free time exercising, traveling, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors.
