Haworth, Laura. MD, MPH, MSW

Assistant Professor

Dr. Laura Haworth joined the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in August of 2024 in the division of Complex Gynecology. Dr. Haworth received her medical degree from The George Washington School of Health Sciences in Washington DC in 2018 and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University (previously known as Eastern Virginia Medical School). She then stayed at Old Dominion and completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

Dr. Haworth’s professional interests are in complex gynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and advanced pelvic ultrasound. She specializes in laparoscopic, robotic, and hysteroscopic approaches to gynecologic surgery. She addresses a wide range of gynecologic conditions including pelvic pain, endometriosis, adenomyosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, and ovarian cysts. Her expertise allows for thorough treatment of these conditions while keeping incision sites small, to reduce recovery time and increase aesthetic outcomes.

Dr. Haworth has research in the areas of reduced blood loss during myomectomy and the application of surgical equipment to reduce operative time and complications. She has also presented at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists regarding laparoscopic excision of deeply infiltrative endometriosis, advanced robotic vascular control, and management of complex ectopic pregnancies.

Dr. Haworth works with residents and medical students at the Medical College of Wisconsin and co-leads the gynecologic surgery simulation education program.

Dr. Haworth primarily sees patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic in the Froedtert Speciality Clinics building and performs surgery at Froedtert Hospital.

Outside work, Dr. Haworth enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and never turns down a cozy evening on the porch with a good read.
