Chung, Jessica, MD, MPH

MFM Fellow Class of 2026

Introduction

Dr. Jessica Chung joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in August 2023 in our Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine as an Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow. Dr. Chung completed her medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health and her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Dr. Chung works with women whose pregnancies are complicated by maternal medical conditions including hypertensive disorders, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, and cardiac issues. Her research interests are still evolving but include maternal hypertension and cardiac disease, maternal obesity, infectious disease, and opiate dependence in pregnancy.

Dr. Chung obtained her Master of Public Health from Boston University and worked for the CDC on health prevention and treatment strategies in Nigeria and China. She hopes to bridge public health concepts with clinical care for pregnant women, especially in underserved communities, and desires to continue to improve care for women nationally and globally. She also enjoys teaching residents and medical students.

Outside of work, Dr. Chung enjoys cultivating her indoor plant jungle, painting, HIIT workouts, and planning her next overseas adventure.
