With complex gynecologic cancers, specialty care makes a difference.

Uterine, ovarian and other gynecologic cancers are complex diseases. The key to receiving the most up-to-date care is to get a second opinion from physicians who have special training in these specific kinds of cancer.

According to the National Institutes of Health, women with ovarian cancer who are cared for by gynecologic oncologists have significantly improved survival rates.

The physicians of the Gynecologic Cancer Program at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologists and radiation oncologists. They have an in-depth understanding of cancers of the female reproductive system, and they devote their practice to treating women with these complex diseases.

Research shows the importance of working with physicians who are specialists in your type of cancer. According to the National Institutes of Health, women with ovarian cancer who are cared for by gynecologic oncologists have significantly improved survival rates.

Complete care, fully coordinated

Getting treatment for cancer often seems disjointed. Most patients have to move between different providers and clinics. Many end up feeling lost in the system.

It’s different at Froedtert & The Medical College. The Gynecologic Cancer Program includes a complete team of cancer specialists – gynecologic oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurses and others. These team members work together to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient. And they meet regularly to make sure every woman in the program is getting all the care she needs.

We’re with you every step of the way

When you enter the Gynecologic Cancer Program, our new patient coordinator gathers all your medical records and schedules your initial appointments. And a special nurse coordinator helps you through the process step by step – answering your questions, addressing your concerns, connecting you with services and ensuring your care is fully coordinated.
