Introduction

Dr. Julianne Newcomer joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor in July, 1991. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1987. She then went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology also at The Medical College of Wisconsin from 1987 to 1991.Dr. Newcomer’s practice involves both obstetrics and gynecology with an emphasis on Advanced Pelvic Surgery including Robotic Surgery & Urogynecology.

Her areas of interest include, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fistula, general gynecologic surgery especially minimally invasive surgery and robotics. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

Awards and honors: She has been named many times in “Top Doctors”, “Super Doctors” and “Best Doctors in America” from Milwaukee Magazine, Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel and the Business Journal.

She has traveled many times to Africa to correct vesicovaginal fistulas. In 2007, she received a humanitarian award from the Medical College of Wisconsin Alumni Association for her work in Africa.

Many doctors don’t stay “up to date” on the latest studies and medical information. It was clear that Dr Newcomer does and I value that. I also could tell that she genuinely was interested in helping me with my problem. She was very patient with me. I know that I took up too much of her time, but she never acted annoyed and she never rushed me. I was nervous and embarrassed about my condition, and I talked/babbled too much as a result, but she was so relatable that she helped me to relax. Dr. Newcomer saved me from cancer. I had surgery in Feb with a different provider, an oncologist, for the same issue that Dr. Newcomer addressed for me. When I continued to have issues after the first surgery, I sought out a different doctor and found Dr. Newcomer on your website. She did surgery and found a very advanced pre-cancer. Her competence and thoroughness saved me from having cancer. Simply, she is terrific. I’ve indicated that I usually had to wait 15+ minutes past my appointment time. I never minded that, for I knew that someone else was getting her undivided attention, which I would also get when she saw me. I believe that God sent me to this fine doctor and I’m grateful to Him and to her.

Dr. Newcomer is wonderful. She put me at ease and made me feel comfortable while discussing an uncomfortable and sensitive issue.

Knowledgeable and thorough. She was receptive to working with an outside specialist. She made it a priority to reference my medical records and ask me questions to provide me an appropriate treatment plan. I am so fortunate to have her managing this aspect of my care.

Dr. Newcomer has been my gynecologist since I was 16, she dealt with numerous health issues that I’ve had over the years. She has always been fantastic with me. She has delivered all 3 of my babies and soon to deliver the 4th! When I was induced with my first we had 2 long days of induction, Dr. Newcomer was scheduled to leave and stayed because I was so close to pushing! When my twins came she performed a c-section. Her bedside manner is wonderful, she is truly a wonderful physician!
