Dr. Jennifer McIntosh joined the department in April, 2015 in our Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. McIntosh received her Medical degree from Michigan State University in 2007. She went on to complete her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Indiana University from 2007 to 2011 and then completed her fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma. During her time in fellowship she obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Science. Dr. McIntosh was a faculty member at the University of Oklahoma before joining the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. McIntosh’s clinical interests include preterm birth cervical insufficiency and hematologic disorders. She also cares for women with a myriad of other high risk obstetric issues. Special procedures include first trimester aneuploidy screening, amniocentesis and cerclage.

Dr. McIntosh’s research interests include preterm birth, progesterone metabolism and TTP. In her lab, she studies the relationship between mitochondrial damage and endothelial dysfunction and subsequent development of preeclampsia.

Dr. McIntosh has received many awards and honors. Her most recent awards are The University of Oklahoma Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence in Teaching Award (2014), Best Resident Teacher (2010), Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology 4.0 Award (appreciation of student teaching) for all 4 years of her residency (2008-2011) as well as 1st place for the Resident’s Day Research Award (2010).

Dr. McIntosh has served on many leadership and committee positions including the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine’s Preterm Birth Bundle Committee, the Perinatal Quality Foundation Education Committee, Junior Fellow Chair and Vice-Chair for the Indiana Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and Junior Fellow Secretary-Treasurer for ACOG District V.

Dr. McIntosh sees patients in the Maternal Fetal Care Center clinic at Froedtert Hospital, as well as the perinatology clinics at Community Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Center.

Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her family and enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling. Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is important to her.
