King, Kathy A., MD
Associate Professor
Dr. Kathy King joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor in July 2001. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School in 1997. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and served as a Resident Administrative Chief at the Integrated Obstetrics and Gynecology program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2001.
Dr. King strives to provide high quality compassionate care. She enjoys all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology but has special interest in low and high risk obstetrics, preventive care, management of abnormal pap smears including colposcopy, comprehensive family planning/contraception and minimally invasive surgery including office based permanent sterilization and endometrial ablation.
Awards and honors include: Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Medical Women’s Association Certificate of Commendation for graduating in the top 10% of medical school class, Fetherston Award for outstanding resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology, top 20 ranking of all physicians in the Press Ganey Survey for Froedtert inpatient and outpatient satisfaction. She also received the Award for Outstanding Medical Student Teacher in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. King divides her time between her academic practice at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin teaching medical students and residents physicians and servicing as the Associate Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin where she provides reproductive health care services to low income women.
Outside of work Dr. King enjoys spending time with her family and many pets at her lakeside home, yoga, knitting and world travel.
