Gecsi, Kimberly S., MD
Professor; Associate Chief Medical Officer; Vice Chair Clinical Operations
Dr. Kimberly Gecsi joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in August 2021 in the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Gecsi received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2002. She went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh Magee Womens Hospital from 2002 to 2006. Prior to starting at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Gecsi spent 12 years in academic medicine in Cleveland where she held leadership roles including residency program director. She is an active member of several national organizations and is on the board of directors for the Society of Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Gecsi’s clinical passion is minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, which encompasses hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and robotic-assisted laparoscopy. These techniques allow safe and complete treatment of gynecologic conditions including abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, adenomyosis, and endometriosis, while allowing for less time in the hospital and quicker return to work and activities. She also specializes in lower genital tract pathology including cervical dysplasia and vulvar disorders.
I believe every patient should have access to high quality, patient centered care. Providing patients with a range of evidence based medical treatments and minimally invasive surgical options allows patients to feel confident in the care they are receiving.
