About SPARCC

SPARCC (Student-centered Program to Advance Research in Cancer Careers) is an 8-week summer program for undergraduate students, that combines content knowledge and clinical experiences to focus on cancer care, cultural responsiveness, and research. Students will have workshop sessions in the morning and practicum rotations in the afternoon. Each week is designated to one of the eight core topics:

  • Cancer Care and Clinical Trials Operations
  • Culturally Responsive Care
  • Leadership and Professionalism
  • Ethical and Participant Safety Considerations
  • Study and Site Management
  • Cancer Medicines, Development and Regulation
  • Data Management and Informatics
  • Scientific Concepts and Research Design specific to Cancer Research
