Resident Research and Alumni Day is an annual event where residents present their research results within their residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
A Roland S. Cron guest speaker is invited to present each year.
Each year, we invite our Obstetrics and Gynecology alumni to attend this significant day to support our current residents.

Alan Peaceman, MD

Alan M. Peaceman, MD is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and Chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, and then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Dr. Peaceman joined the faculty of Northwestern in 1989. His research interests are wide-spread, and have included antiphospholipid antibodies in pregnancy, prediction of preterm birth, lowering rates of cesarean delivery, and the effects of maternal obesity in pregnancy. He served as the Principal Investigator at Northwestern for the NICHD sponsored Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinical Trials Network for 15 years, and is current the Principal Investigator on an NIH sponsored multicenter trial of controlling gestational weight gain. He has been an author on more than 160 journal articles, 12 of which were in the New England Journal of Medicine.
