Over 3,000 babies are delivered annually at Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus, a 538-bed tertiary care facility located on Milwaukee’s northwest side. It specializes in high-risk obstetrical cases (over 20% of all the hospital’s deliveries are high-risk). They also have one of the largest and best neonatal intensive care units in the state. The labor and delivery suite contains 16 labor, delivery and recovery (LDR) rooms, a high-risk antepartum unit, three operating rooms and a triage area. Obstetrical anesthesia is available 24 hours a day.

Fetal Heart Rate Testing
An ambulatory care clinic for both obstetric and gynecologic patients is run by the resident staff and supervised by clinical faculty. The entire spectrum of gynecologic surgery is performed at Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus. Approximately 500 minor cases and 600 major gynecologic operations are performed annually.
The professional staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of more than 40 clinical faculty. Residents in anesthesiology, internal medicine, general surgery, radiology and family practice also receive training at St. Joseph’s.
