An integrated selective course, Women’s Health seeks to provide an individualized learning environment in outpatient setting covering applied principles of practice in the primary care of women. Student activities are customized to meet personal goals of individual students. At the end of this selective, the student will be able to discuss the applied principles of practice which are used in delivering primary care for women including: health maintenance, performing and interpreting Pap screening, mammography and breast exams, evaluation and treatment of common gynecologic problems, pediatric/adolescent gynecology, family planning/abortion care (if desired), bone densitometry, genetic counseling, urogynecology, maternal fetal medicine/high risk pregnancy.
