Dr. Estil Strawn joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor in October, 1995. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1980. He then went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. He completed a fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University hospital in Portland, Oregon.Dr. Strawn’s practice involves the cost effective and evidence based management of patients with infertility, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and uterine birth defects with an emphasis on in vitro fertilization, preimplantation genetic diagnosis and advanced endoscopic surgery. He performs minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, robotically assisted surgery, surgical and non-surgical management of uterine fibroids and surgical reversal of fallopian tube sterilization. He also specializes in the management of polycystic ovarian syndrome, premature ovarian failure and fertility preservation in cancer patients
Dr. Strawn’s research area is in preimplantation genetic diagnosis. He recently published an article in Fertility and Sterility concerning genetic imprinting in sub fertile patients. He has given both national and international presentations on a wide variety of topics in the area of reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Dr. Strawn is an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a member of the exam writing team for the Council on Residency Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG).
Dr. Strawn is a tenured Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is the Medical Director of the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Reproductive Medicine Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Strawn enjoys playing tennis and having movie nights with his family and friends, bicycling, and interested in technology and computers.
