20 Dec Woodard, Libby, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Libby joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2019 in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine division. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2008 and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012. Libby also obtained her certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife in 2012.
Libby is part of a multidisciplinary team of providers in the Fetal Concerns Center. Working closely with doctors, nurses, ultrasonagraphers, genetic counselors and social workers, she helps to coordinate and provide comprehensive care to women and families who face complex fetal conditions that affect their pregnancies.
Libby enjoys the educational aspect of midwifery care, which is part of what drew her to coming back to work in academic medicine. There are many things that unfortunately cannot be controlled during a pregnancy. However, Libby appreciates having access to so many specialists and resources within the health system to help provide valuable knowledge to families that will allow them to regain some control and fully participate in all healthcare decisions necessary for every mom and baby.
Libby sees patients at the Fetal Concerns Center, located inside Children’s Hospital. She also attends births at the Froedtert Birth Center.
Outside of work, she can be found spending time with her husband and two children, while exploring their new home in Milwaukee.
