2017 News from the Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus

This year we have seen retirements of three long serving colleagues.

Dr. Donald Baccus, MD is retiring after 37 years of practicing medicine. Dr. Baccus retired from active practice 5 years ago but has faithfully continued staffing the Women’s Outpatient Clinic. He was actively involved in the education of students and residents and served on multiple hospital committees. He was Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Jocelyn Eiche retired from active practice after 31 years of service. She started at St. Joe’s in 1986.

Sonka Tostrud retired in May after 42 years of working as a L&D nurse at St. Joseph. Sonka was the Clinical Nurse Resource with a strong focus on the operating room and provided new staff with great experience and support

Sadly, we also pass along three deaths from our past medical and nursing staff.

Dr. John Sinsky passed away on March1st, 2017 at age 94.

Dr. William (Bill) Goodman passed away on July 10th, 2016. Bill practiced for over 40 years with most of his deliveries at St. Michael’s Hospital and later at St. Joseph’s. He was on the medical staff of St. Joe’s for 28 years. He was well liked and always smiling!

Virginia Klunk left us far too soon on October 26th, 2016. She worked at St. Joe’s for 30 years, starting in 1987.
