22 Aug 2016 News from the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital Campus
At the completion of another successful academic year, we celebrate the accomplishments of our growing department here at MCW. First and foremost, we say goodbye to another phenomenal group of residents who will be truly missed. Three of our graduates have accepted very competitive fellowships, and the remainder will enter practice. We have no doubt they will transition to practice seamlessly and are well prepared to do so with the training they have received here. While we are certainly sad to see them go, we are thrilled to welcome the incoming class of 2020.
Our department has grown rapidly over the years, and this past year was no exception. We welcomed Jayme Bosler, MD back to MCW as part of our REI division, which continues to be the top in the state. We also matched our second MFM fellow, Amanda Johnson, MD, who has joined us in July 2016. The MFM division has also been thrilled with the addition of Julia Houdek, APP.
Abbey Kruper, PsyD, has been a valuable asset to our department, and is providing mental health services to our pregnant and post-partum women, as well as our gyn oncology patients. The gyn oncology division remains busy and also welcomes Lisa Caravella, APP.
Our research division continues to expand under the direction of Dr. Hibbard. Our residents are increasingly represented at national conferences with posters and oral presentations. In addition, two of our graduating chiefs won MCWAH research awards this year. This continues to be a priority and area of growth in our department.
As this year comes to a close, we can’t help but be excited to see what the next academic year will bring.
