16 Jun Identical Triplets from West Allis Celebrate Birthday on Father’s Day
A set of medical wonders celebrated a birthday over Father’s Day weekend.
Hannah, Lucy and Norah are identical triplets from West Allis, and they’re celebrating their first birthday.
The girls were conceived without the use of fertility drugs, which makes them even more rare.
Parents Laura and Kevin Stier said they weren’t even trying to get pregnant when they conceived the girls.
They said the pregnancy was a psychological roller coaster. Their doctors said the girls certainly presented some risks.
“A lot of very hard discussions that we had to have through probably a six week window where we had to make decisions on what was the best thing for all three of them,” said Dr. Erika Peterson.
The girls were born two-and-a-half months early, on Father’s Day, at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. They spent two months in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
