“We are extremely grateful for the support of Laura’s Smile Foundation,” said Janet Rader, MD, Jack A. and Elaine D. Klieger Professor and Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at MCW, and an international leader in gynecological cancer research. “This funding is key in discovering the causes and new therapies to combat ovarian cancer.”

Here are the symptoms to be aware of:

  • Swelling of the stomach, sudden weight gain, or bloating
  • Persistent pelvic or abdominal pain or pressure
  • Trouble eating or feeling full quickly
  • Feeling the need to urinate urgently or often.

Laura’s Smile Foundation, officially created in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) charity by Laura’s sister-in-law, Denielle Beilfuss, and her friends – Michele Buchicchio and Cassie Simpson – is dedicated to leading the movement towards ovarian cancer awareness.
