14 Oct Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Achieves UHC Top Decile Quality Ranking
On Oct. 1, the University HealthSystem Consortium announced Froedtert Hospital as one of the top-performing academic medical centers in the nation, winning a Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award. The award is given to UHC member academic medical centers that have demonstrated superior performance as measured by the UHC Quality and Accountability Study, which UHC has conducted annually since 2005.
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital is the only academic medical center in Wisconsin to win this award in 2015. This achievement is a testament to the diligent work of our staff and providers who continually strive for excellence in caring for the health of our communities.
The Quality and Accountability Study assesses performance across a spectrum of high-priority care dimensions. Based upon the Institute of Medicine’s Aims of Improvement, these include safety, effectiveness, equity, patient-centeredness, timeliness and efficiency. The award winners were announced at the UHC Annual Conference 2015 in Orlando, Fl.
