Welcome Pradeep Chaluvally-Raghavan, PhD, Research Faculty

Dr. Chaluvally-Raghavan completed his Ph.D from the University of Calicut in India. During his graduate training his research focused on the roles of NF-kB transcription factor in melanoma metastasis. He then completed a Postdoc in the lab of Dr. Yosef Yardmen at the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he explored the mechanisms underlying the role of HER2 in the transition from normal cells to ductal carcinoma in situ and to invasive cancer. Dr. Chaluvally-Raghavan most recently completed a Postdoc position with Dr. Gordon Mills in the Department of Systems Biology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Chaluvally-Raghavan has earned multiple awards including Trainee Excellence award, Amgen Best Poster Award and Abstract Winner Award from MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2009, Dr. Chaluvally-Raghavan was awarded an AACR Avon Foundation International Scholar-in-Training Award. He is currently the recipient of the Ann Schreiber Award for Excellence of Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation from the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

His research focuses on the oncogenic role of tumor driver microRNAs amplified and overexpressed in ovarian cancer. He will be exploring the use of microRNA and anti-microRNA based therapy to combat ovarian cancer.
