About Dr. Rice
Dr. Laurel W. Rice is chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a professor in the Division of Gynecology Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Rice attended college and medical school at the University of Colorado. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, in Boston, MA. After four years on the faculty of Massachusetts General Hospital, the University of Virginia (UVA) recruited her to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During her 14 years at UVA, Dr. Rice was appointed Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology, established a Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, and served as Vice Chair of the Department of OBGYN.
Nationally recognized as an expert in the care of women with gynecologic malignancies, Dr. Rice has published extensively in her field. Her research focuses on hormones and human malignancies, specifically endometrial carcinoma. She has lectured extensively throughout the United States.
Dr. Rice continues to serve in leadership positions of many national organizations. She is president-elect of the Council of University Chairs in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Secretary/Treasurer of the American Gynecologic Obstetrics Society, and an active member of several other professional organizations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.
Since 2006, Dr. Rice has served on the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently serves as director for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. She is an examiner for candidates seeking board certification in both General Obstetrics and Gynecology, in addition to the subspecialty area of Gynecologic Oncology. She also serves on the editorial board of Gynecologic Oncology, and as a reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, both highly regarded journals in her field.

Dr. Swisher earned a B.S. from Yale University and received her M.D. from the University of California at San Diego. She completed her residency at the University of Washington in Ob/Gyn and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Washington University St Louis. She returned to the University of Washington to join the faculty in 1999 and has been here since that time. Both her clinical and laboratory work focus on cancer genetics. Dr. Swisher has published extensively on the genetics and therapy of ovarian cancer and has received numerous national awards including a Sidney Kimmel Award, the CREOG National Teaching Award, the GCF Margaret Greenfield/Carmel Cohen, MD Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research Prize, and the OCNA Rosalind Franklin Award for Ovarian Cancer Research. She has received many research grants from the NIH, the DoD Ovarian Cancer Research Program, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, the V Foundation, The Mary Kay Foundation, the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research, and others. She is the co-leader of the first Stand Up to Cancer/AACR ovarian Cancer Dream team. She is also the co-leader of an international clinical trial and has been the principal investigator.
Dr. Swisher has served many national and international cancer organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (education), the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (elected council member), the Foundation for Gynecologic Oncology (elected board member), NRG Oncology (Translational Science committee), the American Association of Cancer Research (awards committee), and others.
Dr. Swisher is board certified in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology.

About Dr. Ricciotti
Hope Ricciotti, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School and practices obstetrics and gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is a contributor to many magazines and is co-author of several cookbooks and women’s health textbooks. Dr. Ricciotti oversees residency education in obstetrics, gynecology, and women’s health at Harvard Medical School. Her other research projects include evaluating innovative methods of medical education, and simulation for training medical students and residents.
Dr. Ricciotti is dedicated to educating the public and the Chair of the Medical Advisory Panel for You and Your Family Magazine and youandyourfamily.com. Her special interests include providing obstetrical care, contraception, cervical cancer prevention, and well-woman care for all phases of the lifecycle. In addition, she has special expertise in reproductive health, nutrition, and management of menopause.

Dr. Michelle Kominiarek, MD MS is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and an Associate Professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Kominiarek is nationally known for her expertise in pregnancies complicated by obesity and pregnancies that occur after bariatric surgery. Her clinical and research interests also relate to women’s health outcomes such as labor progress, anticoagulation during pregnancy, hypertension in pregnancy, and obstetrical hemorrhage. She is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Kominiarek strives to provide patients and their families with an excellent prenatal care and delivery experience that focuses on patient education and empowerment and often involves a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach with other clinicians who also specialize in high-risk pregnancies

About Dr. Milad
As Chief of Gynecology and Gynecologic Surgery, he performs advanced minimally invasive surgeries including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy for conditions of endometriosis, fibroids, adhesions, tubal disease and ovarian cysts. He also performs laparoscopic total and subtotal hysterectomy, myomectomy, cystectomy and hysteroscopic removal of fibroids and adhesions. He has developed expertise in the area of vaginal agenesis and other Mullarian anomalies.

About Dr. Legro
Dr. Richard S. Legro is Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA and Co-Director of the Hub Resource Capacity Core at the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
His research and clinical practice are primarily focused on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) – diagnosis, treatment, and genetic/environmental causes as well as on improving infertility diagnosis and treatment. He has been continuously funded by the NIH for over twenty years as a principal investigator. He has designed and led multiple multi-center trials in the U.S. and China that have appeared in high impact journals. These trials have broadened the scope of infertility trials from stopping when the patient conceives to follow mothers and fetus up and through live birth and to capture all treatment and pregnancy-related adverse events in mother and infant. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals. He has been elected and served as a member of the Executive Board and Chair of the Publications Committee of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and is currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Endocrine Society.
He serves as a subspecialty board oral examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an Associate Editor for Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction Update and the Co-Editor in Chief of Seminars in Reproductive Medicine. He has consulted for the NIH, the FDA, the WHO, and been selected for the Thousand Talents Program in China. He has received many awards including as Best and Top Doctor, has been inducted as a Fellow Ad Eundem to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK and received the 2017 Excellence in Clinical Research Award from the FUNDACIÓN IVI in Spain.

About Dr. Learman
Lee A. Learman, MD, PhD, has been Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Academic Affairs since October 12, 2015 at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University (FAU). He is the Designated Institutional Official who is responsible for all residency and fellowship programs sponsored by the college as well as the recruitment of founding program directors for planned GME programs. The Academic Affairs role will comprise development and execution of College’s faculty development strategy, leadership for medical education scholarship and ongoing accreditation with LCME standards.
Dr. Learman comes to FAU from Indiana University, where he has served as the Clarence E. Ehrlich Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2008. He received his MD and a PhD in Social Psychology at Harvard Medical School in a program supported by the MacArthur Foundation to create a cadre of physician-social scientists in academic medicine. After completing his OBGYN residency at UCLA, Learman spent 14 years on the faculty at the UC San Francisco, where he was a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, OBGYN Residency Program Director, Director of Curricular Affairs for the Office of Graduate Medical Education, and Chair of the Scholarship Committee for the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators.
Dr. Learman is engaged in a variety of national service roles. He is an oral examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a former member of the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a former member of the USMLE Management Committee. He serves as faculty, advisor and Advisory Committee Chair for a national faculty development program in OBGYN – the APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Program, and is the past Chair of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is President of the Society of Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Learman is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications including several contributions to the AAMC MedEdPORTAL. His scholarly work spans topics in gynecology, obstetrics and medical education including curriculum development and evaluation, learner assessment, and professionalism in the learning environment. He provides peer review service to over 15 journals including Academic Medicine, has served on the editorial board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and is Editor-in-Chief (Gynecology) of the Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey.

About Dr. Leininger
Dr. William M. Leininger, MD, FACOG (CAPT, MC, USN [Ret]), currently practices as a board certified, Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). He served on the hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Executive Committee, and is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. He has previously served as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialty Advisor to the Surgeon General of the Navy (2012-2015), and was a Residency Program Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Naval Medical Center San Diego (2007-2012).
Dr. Leininger graduated from Williams College with a BA in Biology in 1986, and then spent a year teaching high school math and science at the Landon School in Bethesda, MD (his alma mater). He next attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and graduated in 1991, and subsequently completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NMCSD in 1997. In addition to San Diego, he practiced at the Naval hospitals in Bethesda, MD, Portsmouth, VA, Camp Pendleton, CA, and Keflavik, Iceland.
During his 26 years in the Navy, he deployed to the Persian Gulf and Kuwait, and served in humanitarian operations in Somalia (Operation Restore Hope), Guatemala, and Indonesia (Operation Tsunami Relief). During his career, he also worked on numerous policy issues, patient safety strategies, and medical education improvements, covering topics such as updates to the armed services’ abortion policy, developing care guidelines for transgender service personnel, decreasing cesarean section rates, preventing unplanned pregnancies, delivering healthcare for pregnant and deployed servicewomen, and promoting the core competency of professionalism.
Dr. Leininger is married to a Marine Corps veteran and a former volunteer fire fighter, and his wife is now a Senior GIS Analyst/Cartographer for the North County Dispatch JPA, providing support to the Fire and EMS Services in northern San Diego County. They live in Escondido, CA, and have three rescued German Shepherds.

About Dr. Nelson
Dr. Gregg Nelson obtained his MD and PhD degrees at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and subsequently continued on to complete his sub-specialization in Gynecologic Oncology at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. He joined the Section of Gynecologic Oncology at TBCC in July 2010, and was the local Gyn Tumour Team lead and Chair of the Provincial Gynecologic Oncology Tumour Team from 2011-2018. He is currently Chair of Gynecologic Oncology and is Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Oncology at the Cumming School of Medicine.
Dr. Nelson’s principal research interests are the development and study of enhanced recovery protocols in cancer surgery and interventions to improve HPV vaccination in First Nations populations. He holds the position of Surgical Lead, ERAS Alberta and he also leads the international group that published the ERAS® Guidelines for Gynecologic/Oncology Surgery. Recently he has been appointed the Secretary of the ERAS® Society Executive Committee based in Sweden. He leads the EHVINA study – Enhancing HPV Vaccination In First Nations Populations in Alberta – a $1,250,000 project funded by Alberta Innovates/Alberta Cancer Prevention Legacy Fund.
Dr. Nelson has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has presented numerous times internationally. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer.

About Dr. Connolly
Dr. Connolly obtained her MD from Tufts University. After completing her residency in OBGYN at the University of North Carolina (UNC), she worked as a specialist in private practice for 2 years. She then returned to UNC and completed a fellowship in Urogynecology/Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. Dr. Connolly continued her career at UNC where she was named the Annie Louise Wilkerson, MD ’36 Distinguished Professor, served as the Obstetrics and Gynecology clerkship director for 7 years, Residency Program Director for 11 years, the Fellowship Program Director for the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship for 4 years and was also the Vice Chair for Education in the department of OBGYN. She is now the chief of education and academic affairs of ACOG.
While her clinical experience focused on urogynecology, her primary academic interests include medical education and the effect of childbirth on the pelvic floor. She has published original research on educational and clinical programming and tool development.
Her commitment to clinical practice and medical education has been recognized by the UNC School of Medicine. This includes her Directorship of the UNC Teaching Scholars Program for the past 13 years. Dr. Connolly has been honored for her educational efforts with multiple awards throughout her career at UNC. She is nationally recognized for her leadership in medical education.

About Dr. Brandi
Dr. Kristyn Brandi (pronouns: she/her/ella) is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School, where she completed her medical school and residency. She completed a Family Planning Fellowship at Boston University where she also earned her Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Health Law, Bioethics and Human Rights. Her research is on reproductive decision making, contraceptive coercion, and racism in reproductive health care. She serves as the Board Chair of Physicians for Reproductive Health, sits on several sub-committees for the Society of Family Planning and is a founding member of Centering Equity, Racial and Cultural Literacy in Family Planning (CERCL-FP). She proudly identifies as a Latina pansexual abortion provider.

About Dr. Green
Dr. Green completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at John Hopkins University and fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Georgetown University-MedStar. She serves as the Associate Program Director for the OB/GYN residency program at Mayo Clinic and directs a transition to residency course in the Mayo Medical School. She is also the Fellowship Director for Minimally Invasive Gynecology and a consultant of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic.
Her practice interests are in office hysteroscopy and also the management of abnormal uterine bleeding, cervical dysplasia and chronic pelvic pain. Since residency she has been engaged in undergraduate and graduate medical education, with a focus in surgical education. In 2017 she completed a Masters of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University.

About Dr. Chan
Serena H. Chan, MD, FACOG, is Chief of the Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology division at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is also an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Chan earned her Medical Degree from Oregon Health and Science University before completing her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. She also completed a Fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Chan’s clinical specialties include medical and surgical management of pediatric and adolescent gynecologic concerns, congenital abnormalities of the female reproductive tract, and fertility preservation and reproductive endocrine issues in girls undergoing gonadotoxic therapy. Her research interests include gynecological concerns in females with anorectal malformations, trainee education in provision of adolescent reproduction health services. She has published and presented on the topics of surgical management of reproductive tract anomalies, fertility preservation, and gynecologic concerns in adolescent/young adult cancer survivors. She is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric/Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).

About Dr. Raghuraman
Nandini Raghuraman, MD, MSCI, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Washington University in St Louis and the MFM Fellowship Program Director. She is a NIH-funded physician scientist with expertise in Labor & Delivery clinical trials and implementation science in obstetrics. She has authored over 70 peer reviewed manuscripts and is currently leading a multicenter randomized trial investigating the effect of maternal oxygen supplementation in labor for fetal resuscitation.
